Guys, yesterday I had a personal tragedy. My pocket pc's memory got reset..I left it in the drawer for a couple of days and forgot about it. When I finally remembered to plug it in and charge, I discovered that the cmos battery was drained. In effect, all my files were gone!! All the memory reset. Only the Windows OS was left because what happened was a hard reset like back to square one. I got really depressed...
I kept my daily journal there because it's easier to write using a stylus while on the commute or just hanging around in crowded places. I never got to doing a back-up during sync-ing with my laptop. I just never thought it could happen just like that. Photos, movies, music, doodles, poetry, comments on everyday things, everything was gone. And it was a whole lot because I had that Dell Axim X5 since 2004. Brought it with me everywhere, to bora, bicol, CDO, tagaytay..It's been with me quite a while so it really is hard to take in and swallow.
As you know, I always have this hard time letting go (hirit to self, haha), but this time it happened so abruptly I have no choice but to throw my hands up and give up. I hope in life there was a reset button, just like that, you could just erase every bad memory and start fresh and go back to square one. It would be handy for a person like me who likes to hold on to every little thing, good or bad.
So guys, please do me a favor and back-up ALL your stuff. Every little thing you hold dear, please keep a copy. It was a real nasty feeling and I wouldn't want you guys to experience it.
BTW, uploaded my anthem of the moment, it's a G4 cover of Somebody to Love..do check it out..(hmmm, sounds like a holiday wish...hehehe)
awwwwwww tragedy! it's good that you are keeping records of future memories online. at least hindi mawawala.
ReplyDeleteand now a little hirit: hindi kaya ang message of the universe sa iyo ay "let go?"
