idol fever

So I watched American idol again. Aaah another season begins. We are now glued to the TV every Wednesday and Thursday, from here on now until it’s over. Watched the boys first night out and my instant new favorite is Danny Noriega, who seems like what would look like if you cross a tall gay thin guy with Jessica Alba’s face. Definitely some features there that are so similar. It’s either that or my eyesight have really failed me and have totally been showing false images since two years ago. Hahaha. The guy has spunk, he can sing, belt out a song with attitude and perform. I liked his audition piece, Proud Mary. Stand loud and proud, man! Funny he chose an Elvis song on his first attempt. Kinda not him but he had the guts to try. And of course, since he’s gay, all the more we cheer for him because he’s talented and colorful because of it. I liked it when he gave the head shake to Simon and said, "someone's not liking it..."..Hahaha.

 

At the other side of the stage, I saw from yesterday night the girls’ entourage. There was a Pinay, and she was petite and stylish. We almost feel so patriotic after she sings. It doesn’t matter what she sings, she’s Pinoy, we have got to love her. I always love it when Pinoys ge this sense of being one when seeing somebody, a kababayan, so wonderful things. Everybody is rooting for one person, everybody gets along and everybody forgets politics for a half-hour.

 

Of course, the ladies sang better and looked better. Of course that is always a key characteristic I look for. Last season I was cheering for Antonella Barba, who had a terrible voice, the worst singing talent in the competition, and her performance horrendous to a degree of infamy. But she had a cute ass and she dressed well and that was all that matters. Hahaha. Plus she looked like Alessandra de Rossi. If you can make use sit through a murdered version of I don’t Want To Miss A Thing and Because You Loved Me, all because of a nice dress, or tight jeans, I say you’re a looker. Hahaha. She almost came to the top 10 just that on her sleeve.

 

This year, there are no Barba’s, and I missed the early part of the program, so I couldn’t say I could have a favorite among the girls. Then towards the end, they showed a quick run through of every contestant’s performance of the show, and I sa this very pretty blonde girl who sang first. She sang “Rescue Me”, and I didn’t see enough to judge if she was any good a singer at all, but I saw enough to make her my favorite for the girls in the season. Definitely cute and hot. If she could sing or not, doesn’t really matter.

 

Maybe because I love that song.
